Renjiro Hatonami (鳩波 蓮司郎, Hatonami Renjirō) is the leader of Galients, the outlaw gang. He used to be the boss of a yakuza. Having broken the prison, he attacks Sensui Kanzaki and other people for food, with his weapon of Nagadosu.

Appearance

Renjiro is an elderly man with short black hair and wears glasses. He always chews a stick.

Plot

As they run out of food, Renjiro and Guren Soshigaya decide its time to move to a different area, like in a countryside as there won't be trouble finding food there.

They meet Sensui's group and capture Kathleen demanding their food supplies and introducing themselves as the Galients, former convicts. Renjiro ends up taking on Sensui, but its easily beaten by him, with Sensui explaining he is using his dull side of the sword as he decided to not kill people anymore. The Galients then take Renjiro and run. They keep following Sensui's group and are impressed when they see them fighting in a tunnel.

Later Hidenori prepares curry, but everyone complains its katsu curry again. As Guren couldn't find any people or food supplies, Renjiro decides they go against Sensui's group again. They end up finding them and try forcing them to stop, but a Meteora attacks them and they get saved by Sensui's group.

Ayame confronts her father, asking if he isn't ashamed to be attacking and stealing from people, while Gibia are around. She tells him her mother is dead and if he has to fight someone, it must be the Gibia to get revenge. As there is no point in arresting them, and as she don't want to kill them, she tells them to leave and never show his face to her again.

Renjiro is capable of using a katana although his skills with it aren't that great.
